I’ll soon be moving to a new house, and until then I’ll be suspending work on all projects. I’ll have some upgrades available in limited quantities. Also, I’m currently preparing to have all my board assembly done by another company. I’m just not able to keep up with the backlog of orders.
I’ve also sold out of the modified DSS-1’s. I won’t be selling any more of these myself, but I have several sources that can modify a stock one for you. I have around 25 kits left, and after that there won’t be any for a while, as I’ll be focusing my efforts on the DSM-1. Please feel free to submit ideas and enhancements.
Hi Tom: Will there be a resonant filter control built into the DSM-1 upgrade. No hurry to reply, I see how busy you are.
One of the main goals of the upgrade is to include resonance control. Some people are under the impression that the DSM-1 doesn’t have a resonant filter at all. It actually has the exact same chips as the DSS-1 but many of the functions are disabled (12/24dB switch, resonance, second mixer input). The mod will involve removing the NJM2069 filter chips and installing a socket, and a small PCB will plug into that socket with the original NJM2069 and some additional components. A side benefit of this is that the new board will include vastly improved op-amps for a far cleaner signal path.
